Birthday grandson -- it's his day and his cakes

When my daughter was small, I kept a full-length mirror in the living room. Taped to it was a sheet of paper with the words: "Help me to do it myself." I need to return to that frame of mind. While my grandson and I were working on his birthday cakes this week, I did a bit too much teaching. He reminded me several times that he had listened to what I told him; now I should let him do it, his way. I learn so much from children... and grandchildren.
